Business Events Strategy and Evaluation

Website Last Updated On : Saturday 21/05/2011

We have a vast amount of experience in the development of strategies for the Business Events sector as well as evaluating the financial and flow-on benefits of the Australian Business Events sector and the global meetings industry. We have undertaken performance audits of organisations within the Business Events sector and conduct a performance benchmarking study on behalf of the Association of Australian Convention Bureaux (AACB) each year.

Examples of our key research outputs are:

  1. The National Business Events Study (NBES)

  2. Delivering Innovation Knowledge and Performance - the Role of Business Events

One of the main recommendations from the National Business Events Study (NBES) was the development of software for venues to collect activity data on an ongoing manner. Dr Leo Jago was the creator of Business Events Venue Performance software (BEVP) on behalf of Victoria University. This software, which has been developed by Henk Meijerink,  enables venues to assess their Business Events performance and to compare this performance against themselves over time and against other venues. The project has been driven by Business Events Council of Australia (BECA) and Transport and Tourism Forum (TTF) and is being rolled out nationally under a Federal Government TQUAL grant.
